Copenhagen Highlight

Rosenborg Slot and Kongens Have

This fantastic castle is set amid one of Copenhagen's prettiest parks. This 16th-century Renaissance castle houses the royal collection, including the spectacular Crown Jewels in the basement. This is a wonderful place to visit if you're ever in Copenhagen.

Branson At Christmas - What A Vacation!

This year marks the 20th Ozark Mountain Christmas! From November 1st through December 31st. Visitors to Branson will enjoy Christmas-themed, star-studded productions, millions of beautiful holiday lights, boutique shopping, outdoor events and attractions, and warm Ozarks hospitality.

Holiday shows include live entertainment from famous performers, such as Andy Williams, Mickey Gilley, Joey Riley, Jim Stafford and Yakov Smirnoff to name a few. The carols and hymns, old and new, will put you in the holiday spirit. As a special treat, Mannheim Steamroller and Broadway's Spirit of Christmas have been added to years show line-up.

The Branson Area Festival of Lights will keep you "oohing" and "aahing" as you drive through their incredible light displays. While you're there, don't forget to visit The Shepherd of the Hills - Trail of Lights. This is truly a magical Christmas Wonderland, and it ends at Inspiration Tower. Climb to the top and have a look around (or take the elevator, but only if you must). From the top, you'll see all of Branson "lit up like one big Christmas tree."

Silver Dollar City becomes a holiday paradise with special shows in the theaters throughout the park, as well as strolling carolers dressed in their period costumes. The smell of hot cider and roasted nuts wafting through the air at every turn is intoxicating.

Make sure the kids get a look at the 17 foot talking Christmas Tree and a magnificent 7 story special effects Christmas Tree with lights that are synchronized to music. Enjoy over 8 million lights, rides, attractions and shows.

If you happen to be there on December 7th, don't miss The 60th Annual Adoration Parade. Kids of all ages will enjoy this old-fashioned Christmas parade with bands and floats passing through the streets of historic Downtown Branson. The climax of the event is the lighting of the nativity scene atop Mount Branson.

I've included my favorite hotels and places to eat for you to check out. If you go with your kids, you will have a wonderful, magical vacation. If you go with you significant other, the magic that is Christmas may change your relationship forever!

I will never forget my first Christmas trip to Branson. Christmas is a magical time, there's just something in the air you can't ignore. But being surrounded by so much Christmas spirit is truly wonderful. So, if you're worried about missing the family during Christmas, you know you can't really do that, go in early December. You'll get the best deals on lodging then and the kids will love it. It's a very romantic, energizing getaway.

See the pretty pictures of Branson, and check out the fantastic discounted lodging.

My Favorite Vacation

Yep, you guessed it, this is the beautiful Waikiki Beach in Hawaii. It is gorgeous. This was definitely my favorite vacation, I felt like royalty. Our hotel provided a Continental Breakfast, we were only one block from two great shopping centers (the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and the Waikiki Shopping Plaza). To make it even nicer, we were only 3 blocks from the beach. Everything was within walking distance, no car rentals here.

P.S.: Ok, I'll tell. We stayed at the Castle Hokele, the best kept secret in Honolulu.

Alaska, Beautiful, But COLD In The Winter

This is Alaska, isn't it beautiful. If you plan your vacation sometime between May and September, you can get a break on lodging. But you have to prepare yourself. Alaska not only demands a spirit of adventure and enthusiasm, it also requires binoculars and industrial-strength bug spray. No kidding, there's a reason the mosquito is often referred to as the "Alaska state bird." While you're there, make sure you take advantage of the backpacker shuttles which ferry budget travelers between major centers. This is an experience. Although most hotels drop their prices by as much as half in the winter, it's a little too cold for me personally. However, more and more travelers are taking advantage of this price break, especially those interested in experiencing the dazzling aurora borealis .
